About Me
Hello again!!! My name is Shoba. I live in the Northern Virginia area and currently working at Acuity, Inc on a Department of Homeland Security Contract.
My career and education have taken me on various paths, but I was always drawn to creative design. Something about UX design is highly intriguing for me which I cannot put into words. I always had a curiosity about how things work and to find solutions to problems.
I have worked with various nonprofit organizations as a UX designer contributing my skills for a better cause. It is not always about money.
Other than creating designs, I lead a quiet life with my books and enjoying walks with my adorable two-legged babies.
UX Design Process
My experience with UX design has taught me that good design is achieved through patience and understanding of our users. Hence empathy plays a very important part. As I remember during one of the lectures when I was pursuing my NNg certification, it was stressed that it is important to not search for a solution to a problem right away but to determine the problem thoroughly .

"How Might We" statements and the 5Ws and 1H are a powerful tools to gain insights from research and turn them into opportunities.

It is important to keep users in the forefront at all times. Conducting user research, collaborating with the members of the team and testing prototypes are sure ways to know we are on the right track of creating a successful product or service for the users.
